My Endorsement for November 4th!

I am quite frankly so sick of the election that every time I’m near a TV I want to run screaming for the peaceful serenity of my wine cellar and start cracking open bottles.  Come to think of it I want to do that on most days.  However those feelings aside I feel a certain sense [...]

A Good Value Wine

Times are tough (or so the media keeps telling us) and you know I love a good bargain so I though I’d share a  wine that consistently delivers a good value and we enjoy at stately Fred Manor.  It is Panarroz Jumilla Red and we’ve drunk the last three or so releases under this label.  The current release [...]

Patrick’s on Patrick Street

I had occasion to go to Patrick’s this Friday for lunch.  Since they are only in a “soft opening” (their words) phase I’m not going to do a review at this point.  It’s pretty clear to me that they are still a work in progress.  Rather I’l  just share some of my first impressions:  It is in [...]

I’m back and with pickles

Sorry the posts have been so few and far between.  Brought two new employees into my company and went on vacation for a week so it’s been crazy.  I’ll try to do better.  So yesterday I was thinking about pickles as I was eating lunch.  As long-term readers know I am a big fan of Michael [...]

Volt in Washington Post

The Washington Post food critic reviewed Volt in this past Sunday’s Magazine.  The review was overall very positive and he gave it 2 1/2 stars (out of 4).  The food reviews were very favorable, but they got dinged for service. Link is here.
